Pink & Gold Dipped Dresser

I hope everyone is having a great week!  Things here have been crazy!  When it rains, it pours and when one person wants a bedroom set painted or refinished, apparently so does everyone else.  I am so grateful for the work and I can't believe things have gotten so busy, so fast.  Having said that, my house is the messiest its been in months and we have family pictures tomorrow and I don't have a complete outfit.  EEK!

Today, I am featuring a dresser that I am in love with.  I know I have said that before but this one is for real.  Totally infatuated with this dresser.

Our friends, Nathan and Adrienne, are expecting their 3rd baby.  They have two boys and this time they are having a girl! They recently built a new home and needed some new furniture for a girl nursery and bedroom.

Adrienne, and I have been looking for a solid wood, good quality, french provincial, or something similar with a curved front for a few months now. A set was finally found and the dresser and end table will go in the nursery.  The bed is going in the guest room.

Here are the before pictures.

The dresser is solid and super heavy.  When I saw the first picture of the set, I told Adrienne I was going to feel guilty about painting the piece.  The dresser had several scratches, stains and dings on the drawers fronts as well as the top so I didn't feel extremely guilty about painting it.  Plus, I knew the final look was going to be gorgeous.

I posted this picture on Facebook and Instagram.  Brass handles again!  What a difference a good cleaning and polishing makes!

The theme of the nursery is gray, pink and gold.  The walls are painted gray and this dresser and the end table, I'll show you that makeover later, will be in the room with Adrienne's grandmother's gold mirror hanging over the dresser.

Adrienne decided she wanted the dresser to look gold dipped.  I have never done this before so I was excited when she told me.  The soft pink with the brass handles and the gold dipped legs is a beautiful combination.

LOVE!

I can't wait to see the entire room put together.  The end table had the same makeover, but I felt like it deserved it's own post.  :)   I'll publish that in a few days.

I hope everyone has an amazing Thursday!

  1. Just beautiful! I am having a hard time seeing the colors in the front? Is it all white?

    1. It is a soft pink. It doesn't photograph well. In person you can definitely tell its pink but in pictures it is so soft it looks white.
